ABOUT THE COMPANY
Rand Water is one of the largest bulk water utilities in Africa, committed to delivering sustainable and high-quality water services. As part of its continued efforts to uphold corporate governance and compliance, Rand Water is recruiting two Committee Secretaries to support its governance structures.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The successful candidates will be responsible for providing professional secretariat and administrative support to Rand Water governance committees. This role ensures alignment with corporate governance standards and compliance with applicable legislation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare notices, agendas, and meeting packs in line with timelines

  • Attend meetings, take minutes, and record accurate proceedings

  • Circulate minutes and communicate resolutions to stakeholders

  • Maintain statutory registers, minute books, and governance records

  • Manage logistics: venue bookings, catering, and travel arrangements

  • Ensure all documentation is submitted for safekeeping post-meetings

  • Collate reports and documents for Bid Committee packs

  • Upload documents and updates to the Board portal

  • Handle general administrative and secretarial duties

  • Provide ad hoc support as required

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • CIS or equivalent qualification with a focus on company secretariat

  • 2–3 years’ experience in a company secretariat environment

  • 5 years’ experience in professional minute takingEssential

  • Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite

  • General administrative and customer service experience

  • Willingness to work extended or irregular hours

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Sound understanding of corporate governance and compliance

  • Familiarity with PFMA, Companies Act, and Water Services Act

  • Excellent command of English (written and spoken)

  • Telephone etiquette and ability to engage at senior level

  • Strong planning, organisation, and document management skills

  • High-level minute taking and attention to detail

  • Ability to manage sensitive/confidential information
