Distribution Clerk (Fixed-Term Contract)

Job Purpose

A leading distribution company is looking for a Distribution Clerk on a Fixed-Term Contract from June to August. The successful candidate will support daily and weekly fleet and distribution administration, ensuring smooth operations across vehicle tracking, maintenance, purchasing, and reporting.


Key Responsibilities

  • Capture daily diesel usage, driver consumption, route and truck kilometers

  • Monitor diesel sheet balances and update vehicle history files

  • Handle daily job requests, purchase orders (Oracle), and communication with drivers

  • Conduct fleet inspections and tyre checks

  • Process oil samples and tyre scrapping

  • Compile weekly reports: breakdowns, expenses, service board, stats, and Rodney Dembskey reports

  • Manage fleet costs and component failure reports monthly

  • Oversee motor licensing and COF documentation

  • Plan vehicle services and tyre fitment

  • Manage accident and breakdown coordination

  • Monitor onboard tracking systems

  • Purchase goods/spares/materials

  • Liaise with tyre and mechanical vendors

  • Handle traffic fines, accident reports, and people management

  • Deal with queries from Creditors/Debtors


Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric)

  • Proven computer literacy

  • Previous fleet administration experience is essential
