Purpose of the Job

To provide a professional service to PPS members and associated parties via an inbound contact centre. This is a shift-based role and includes night shifts. The position reports to the Team Manager: PPS Operations.


Minimum Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Matric (Grade 12) – essential

  • 3-year tertiary qualification (Degree/BTech/National Diploma) with a business orientation – essential

Experience and Knowledge:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in an administrative/business coordination role

  • Intermediate knowledge of the Life Assurance or Financial Services industry

Computer Literacy:

  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Projects)


Skills and Competencies

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

  • Customer-centric with a professional and positive image

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with members/intermediaries

  • Conflict resolution and decision-making skills

  • Strong telephone etiquette

  • Problem-solving and logical thinking under pressure

  • Ability to present products and processes confidently

  • Reliable, trustworthy, and a strong team player

  • Proactive with a strategic mindset


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide professional service to PPS members via phone in a contact centre environment

  • Handle and resolve queries across all servicing and administration areas

  • Own the resolution process from start to finish

  • Complete upskilling and take full responsibility during the 3-month probation period

  • Make decisions within mandate and meet performance targets

  • Operate under pressure and apply logic for effective service delivery

  • Follow policies and procedures relevant to service operations

  • Recommend improvements to processes and procedures

  • Escalate system issues for swift resolution

  • Collaborate with team members to meet operational targets
