Position Overview
This learnership offers a structured 18-month training program where candidates will gain theoretical knowledge and practical skills in mining operations. The program focuses on safety, technical development, and environmental responsibility, preparing candidates for a rewarding career in the mining industry.
Key Responsibilities
Safety, Health, and Environment
- Comply with health and safety regulations.
- Keep the workspace clean and organized.
- Actively participate in Safety Learning Activities (SLAMs), HPHs, and Risk Assessments.
Performance and Delivery
- Attend training sessions, both theoretical and practical.
- Perform supervised tasks in plant/mining operations, such as equipment handling and maintenance.
- Assist in daily operations, monitor equipment, and record operational data.
- Troubleshoot minor issues under supervision.
- Contribute to achieving training and production targets.
- Complete assessments to demonstrate progress.
- Maintain training documentation and manage learning materials.
Community Engagement
- Represent the organization positively in interactions with local communities and labor-sending areas.
Qualifications
- Grade 12/N3 Technical or equivalent, with Mathematics Literacy or Mathematics (Physical Science is advantageous).
- South African citizen with a valid ID.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Proof of residential address.
Skills and Knowledge Required
- Ability to follow instructions, read documents, and perform calculations.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety and PPE usage.
- Awareness of mining environments and processes.
- Knowledge of environmental impact and waste management.
