Job Title: Dealer Sales & Contracts Manager

Role Purpose
The Dealer Sales & Contracts Manager is responsible for recruiting, training, and supporting dealers to represent Masslift at the highest standard within outlying areas. This role aims to ensure market coverage, increase sales of new and used forklifts, and uphold service excellence for Mitsubishi equipment. The position involves achieving monthly and annual sales targets, monitoring dealer performance, and enhancing customer satisfaction in line with Masslift’s strategy.
Experience and Minimum Requirements
- Sales experience in a similar industry (e.g., material handling or heavy machinery).
- Service experience within the same or related industry.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation concerning health & safety, environmental, and labor regulations.
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
Duties and Responsibilities
Dealer & Customer Engagement
- Visit dealer and customer sites to inspect machines, ensuring they meet Masslift and manufacturer standards and are in safe operating condition.
- Confirm that customers are fulfilling their contractual obligations.
- Collaborate with customers to ensure satisfaction with uptime, response times, machine safety, and overall contract cost management.
Contract Management
- Control contract costs by scheduling timely servicing, recovering abuse-related costs, and addressing accident damage.
- Conduct load tests and implement strategies to minimize abuse costs.
- Discuss contract repairs with dealers, identify root causes, and develop cost-reduction strategies.
- Manage end-of-contract procedures, prepare condition reports, and control end-of-contract expenses to meet required machine conditions.
Sales & Quotation Management
- Generate a minimum of 30 quotations per month, aiming for a 24-hour turnaround time for each lead.
- Present all quotes in person whenever possible.
- Achieve an annual sales target of 48 units for 2023 and 60 units thereafter.
- Maintain a lost sales target of 96 units, with an actual target of 154 units annually.
- Follow up on all quotations (less than 6 months old) every 2 weeks, with support from the Sales Coordinator.
- Achieve a minimum market share of 8%, targeting an increase to 10% in respective areas.
- Report all lost sales weekly and maintain a coverage rate of at least 28%, targeting 35%.
Dealer Stock & Maintenance Oversight
- Inspect dealer consignment stock regularly in line with Masslift policies.
- Ensure any contract machine that is standing idle for more than 24 hours is repaired promptly.
- Plan and coordinate services and load tests with controllers to meet on-time completion rates.
Health & Safety Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety standards on both customer and Masslift sites.
- Enforce adherence to company policies, including the code of conduct and risk management protocols.
Team Leadership & Training
- Lead the contracts service team to meet or exceed targets for contract revenue and accident damage profits.
- Conduct quarterly meetings with dealers, submitting detailed minutes to the Key Account Admin Manager and National Key Account Manager.
- Provide technical skills and product training for dealer technical staff, supporting their development.
Market Intelligence & Competitor Analysis
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market pricing and competitor activities, providing regular reports to the Management Team.
- Engage in prospecting activities, including cold calling and setting appointments with potential customers in dealer areas.
Financial Management
- Follow up on sales debtors every 48 hours until payment is received, with the assistance of the Sales Coordinator.
- Conduct application and financial surveys to provide accurate machine specifications and solutions for customers.

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and propose solutions.
- Excellent negotiation and customer relationship management skills.
- Proactive and self-motivated, capable of working independently as well as within a team.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively, demonstrating strong organizational and time-management skills.
- High level of integrity, capable of handling sensitive information and adhering to company policies.
Qualifications
- A diploma or degree in Sales, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in material handling or equipment sales.
- Proficiency in CRM software and ERP systems.
- Valid driver’s license, with a willingness to travel frequently.
