Job Description

The Plant Operator will handle various production and safety tasks in a chemical plant. Responsibilities include:

• Preparing batch start-ups and ensuring plant safety and documentation accuracy.
• Manufacturing blends in blenders and managing reaction batches in reactors.
• Adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Communicating with Team Leaders and Laboratory staff.
• Safely isolating plant and equipment during maintenance.
• Stenciling polycans, labeling packaging, loading and offloading tankers.
• Transferring products, monitoring effluent levels, and managing waste materials.
• Operating forklifts and hoists, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications & Experience

• Matric (Grade 12)
• Chemical Operations NQF 3 qualification
• Valid forklift license
• 3 years of experience in a chemical plant
