We are recruiting a General Assistant to join our team. The General Assistant assists the cooks and chefs with food production, operates the cash register, serves food, and keeps the canteen and kitchen clean.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with Company and statutory regulations regarding cleanliness and hygiene in all tasks.
- Meet quality standards of customer service, operating processes, health and safety, and food standards.
- Assist in the preparation of meals, especially salads and desserts.
- Place entrees, salads, desserts, and other food on the serving line.
- Keep the serving line well-stocked and clean.
- May assist in training new employees.
- Store and record food leftovers.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in the canteen tables, kitchen, and other areas.
- Ensure customer expectations are met within the provisions of the contract.
- Deliver a high level of customer service within the area of responsibility.
- Count and sign over stock in the designated area of responsibility to the correct staff on the following shift.
- Carry out any reasonable requests by management.
- Report and, where possible, take action when faced with customer and client complaints or compliments.
- Attend meetings and training courses as necessary.
- Perform related work as assigned.

Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Must have completed at least a Matric/Senior Certificate.
