Job Summary

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a Cosmetic Cashier for the Athol Store to enhance customer service at the point of sale and ensure a world-class shopping experience. The Cosmetic Cashier is responsible for recording transactions, maintaining cash flow, and merchandising cosmetic products to provide excellent customer service.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: Grade 12 / Matric
• Experience: At least 6 months of cashier/till operations experience
• Skills:
  • Computer literate (MS Office)
  • Strong command of English
  • Sound numerical skills
  • Basic customer service skills
• Availability: Willingness to work retail hours

Key Responsibilities

• Prioritize customers at the cosmetic till, ensuring efficient transactions.
• Assist with cosmetic product merchandising when the till is unoccupied.
• Handle customer complaints and escalate unresolved issues to management.
• Maintain personal and team hygiene and presentation standards.
• Manage Dis-Chem’s 5-star communication principles and refer queries to the Cosmetic Consultant.
• Process all forms of payments, including loyalty card programs, accurately and securely.
• Maintain a clean, attractive, and organized merchandising display in the cosmetics section.

Competencies

• Essential:
  • Knowledge of cash register operations and cash drawer maintenance
  • Understanding of processing sales, refunds, and payments
  • Excellent accuracy, attention to detail, emotional intelligence, and social awareness
  • Effective time management, problem-solving, and accountability skills
• Advantageous: Proficiency in a third language
