Purpose of the Role:
To support the Catering Manager in daily operations of healthcare catering services, ensuring high standards of food quality, hygiene, administration, and team supervision.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist in meal preparation, service, and presentation

Place supplier orders and manage stock (receiving, storage, rotation)
-
Monitor hygiene and food safety standards (HACCP & NOSA compliance)

Support menu planning and cost control
-
Train and supervise catering staff
-
Handle admin tasks (e.g., salary variations, stocktaking, reports)
-
Act as manager in their absence
-
Attend training sessions and participate in industry exhibitions
Skills & Competencies:

Strong people and supervisory skills

Organised, detail-oriented, and able to work under pressure

Good communication and grooming
-
Willing to work weekends/public holidays

Computer literate

Able to delegate and negotiate
Qualifications & Experience:

Education: Matric (Grade 12)

Experience:
-
2+ years in catering/restaurant industry at supervisory level
-
Healthcare catering experience is advantageous
