Job Summary
A high-calibre Operations Supervisor is needed to manage and coordinate operational activities at a terminal or depot. The role includes supervising a team, ensuring timely delivery of goods, and maintaining fleet and SHEQ standards. This position plays a key part in achieving operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Minimum Requirements

Diploma or Advanced Certificate in Logistics or Transportation Management

Valid Code EB driver’s license (Code EC an advantage)

Minimum 7 years supervisory experience, including 2 years in a senior role in the transport industry

Advanced MS Excel skills and general computer literacy

Strong knowledge of:

NBCRFI Main Agreement

Tyre and Vehicle Maintenance

SHEQ protocols in the transport sector

Mix Telematics and DriveCam systems

Transport economics and financial reporting

Strong leadership and communication skills

Target-driven with high operational standards
Duties and Responsibilities
-
Oversee routing and scheduling of delivery vehicles
-
Brief and debrief operational staff daily
-
Hold regular meetings with clients
-
Ensure fleet is in optimal operational condition, licensed, and roadworthy

Conduct SHEQ activities: toolbox talks, safety inspections, and committee meetings

Liaise with the workshop, clients, suppliers, regional management, and head office
-
Supervise on-site suppliers
-
Ensure compliance with NBCRFI agreements
-
Manage staff wages and overtime
-
Monitor fuel usage and control onsite fuel bowsers
-
Review Mix Telematics reports and coach DriveCam events
-
Ensure optimal use of staff and fleet to meet operational KPIs
-
Oversee all administration, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
-
Control costs, review and approve quotes/invoices
-
Monitor cost per kilometre (CPK) and review income statements

Supervise daily operational activities
