Job Description
Mediclinic Welkom is seeking a professional and customer-focused Reception Administrator to join its team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing patient admissions and discharges, ensuring compliance with hospital procedures, maintaining patient confidentiality, and assisting in minimizing operational and financial risks.

Reception or administrative experience.
Experience within a private healthcare facility will be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
Capture and process patient admissions, pre-admissions, and bookings according to hospital procedures.
Ensure accurate patient information and documentation.
Assist with patient discharge processes in line with the Patient Administration Manual.
Identify and mitigate financial risks by adhering to policies and procedures.
Maintain strict patient confidentiality at all times.
Provide professional and efficient front-desk support to patients and visitors.
Ensure compliance with hospital administration and operational standards.
Skills and Competencies
Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications.
Knowledge of hospital switchboard systems.
Understanding of patient admission, discharge, and bed management processes.
Familiarity with patient administration systems, including AS400.
Knowledge of ICD and CPT coding.
Understanding of medical aid schemes and the private healthcare environment.
Knowledge of Workman's Compensation Act (WCA) processes and procedures.
Understanding of patient confidentiality and cash-handling procedures.
Ability to identify and manage potential financial risks.
Knowledge of emergency and major incident protocols.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
