Applications are invited for the above-mentioned position in the Customer Services and Logistics function, based in Durban. The successful candidate will report to the Customer Services Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate company vehicles safely for collections and deliveries to customers and distributors.

• Load and unload delivery vehicles securely and efficiently.

• Follow delivery routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries.

• Deliver excellent customer service by addressing questions and resolving delivery issues.

• Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including proof of delivery and invoices.

• Ensure vehicles are maintained, cleaned, fuelled, and inspected regularly.

• Comply with all road traffic laws and safety standards.

• Maintain detailed vehicle logbooks and inspection checklists.

• Ensure vehicle cleanliness and report any damage immediately.

• Distribute loads evenly during loading and off-loading.

• Notify the Customer Delivery office upon departure.

• Adhere to traffic regulations and speed limits.

• Ensure the quality and presentability of loaded and delivered products.

• Achieve all delivery KPI targets.

• Communicate with the customer upon arrival and request permission to off-load.

• Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate where necessary.

• Report any accidents or vehicle faults within 24 hours, as per procedure.

• Complete all delivery documentation accurately and on time.

• Assist with device use and crew management on hired vehicles when required.

• Ensure personnel safety and use of PPE at all times.

• Prevent unnecessary breakages during loading/unloading.

• Perform any ad-hoc duties assigned by the supervisor.

• Follow all company policies and procedures and contribute to continuous improvement.

Job Requirements

Education:

• Minimum Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.

Experience:

• Valid driver’s license for delivery vehicle (Code EC / PDP).

• A commercial driver’s license is an added advantage.

• At least 2 years of experience in driving delivery vehicles.

• Experience in the alcoholic beverages industry is beneficial.

• Strong customer service, verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and in a team.

• Safe driving practices and the ability to handle multiple deliveries.

• Flexibility to work varied hours in a fast-paced environment.
