Main Purpose of the Job:
To respond to emergency calls and deliver basic medical care in accordance with the Basic Life Support (BLS) scope of practice.
Key Responsibilities:

Ensure operational readiness for emergency medical calls

Deliver patient care within the scope of practice

Represent ER24 positively and professionally to the public
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
-
Essential: Basic Ambulance Assistant (BAA) Certificate
-
Desired: Training aligned with Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs) from the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
If not yet trained in current CPGs, successful candidates must complete this during probation.
Experience:
-
Minimum: 6 months – 1 year of BLS (Basic Life Support) road experience

Preferred: 2 years of road BLS experience
Required Skills & Knowledge:
-
Knowledge of local facilities, travel routes, and geographic area

Familiarity with HPCSA guidelines and BLS scope of practice

Understanding of EMS (Emergency Medical Services) best practices
-
Competent in completing Patient Report Forms (PRFs)
-
Strong command of English (written and verbal)
