Purpose of the Role

To support sales operations by managing product distribution, monitoring sales targets, providing customer support, and leading driver teams to ensure efficient and profitable delivery and sales in the informal trade channel.


Minimum Requirements

  • Education:

    • Matric / Grade 12

    • Diploma or Degree in Sales or Marketing

  • Licensing:

    • Valid Code 10 Driver’s License with PDP

  • Experience:

    • 3–5 years in a relevant sales/distribution/customer service role

Key Responsibilities

  1. Efficient Product Distribution

    • Optimize driver routes and ensure efficient deliveries

    • Verify invoicing matches orders before dispatch

  2. Order & Return Balancing

    • Track informal customer orders and returns daily

    • Implement strategies to reduce product returns

  3. Sales Performance Monitoring

    • Submit daily sales data

    • Ensure driver sales meet targets

    • Provide actionable insights and address competition

  4. Customer Data Accuracy

    • Ensure accurate entry and classification of customer accounts

  5. Driver & Assistant Management

    • Train, discipline, and evaluate delivery teams

    • Use route-riding to engage all customers monthly

  6. Pricing & Trade Monitoring

    • Conduct weekly price surveys

    • Implement pricing strategies and monitor retail selling prices

  7. Customer Relationship Building

    • Grow informal trade market share

    • Resolve customer complaints and ensure service standards

    • Assist with route optimisation and link customer-driver interactions

    • Support merchandising and product visibility


Ideal Candidate Profile

A proactive, people-oriented, and data-driven individual with a background in sales/distribution who enjoys field work, coaching teams, and engaging with customers in a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment.
